need advice how to handle conflict i'm
working on a project with another
co-worker
x i suggest to x we work off
a main feature branch and rebase our
changes as we go
x agrees as time goes on i notice x
repeatedly merging my changes into their
own bridge
this results in a lot of additional
merge commits and i don't have any of
their changes
this has happened a couple times even
after re-clarifying branch
strategies i have a feeling x doesn't
care lazy co-worker
or doesn't know how to rebase and is
afraid to ask for help
or doesn't know the difference between
merge and rebase what should i do
so we can either ignore them confront
the
ignore them confront the co-worker or
email their boss
yeah for real dude these people are just
so passive aggressive they don't so they
have to ask the internet
about how to handle this yeah
everyone agrees with us most likely they
are not
entirely competent with git i mean
honestly i don't even know how to do
that
i'm basically just like i mean i don't
know
i've only had to deal with that a little
bit because
right now i work on myself in all my
single person projects so i don't really
have to worry about
merge complexities and stuff like that
but
whenever i was with the other guys
before my
company we ran into that all the time
i don't even know what rebase is yeah
i mean i've used merge before but
rebasing up
that brings no bells i don't really know
um i didn't run into
anything like that uh only really
stuff
i would never i don't especially for
this how it
applied to this cold and no way i would
have ever went above someone else's
head and if it was and if it's
annoying i'm not gonna ignore it yeah
dude people do a lot of cringy stuff
online and uh
they show off saying like that if it's
something big
it makes me like slightly my way
i'd probably ignore it
like if it was like a one-time thing
that i had to deal with but if it was
something that i was doing was
consistent
uh consistently i would yeah it's a lot
of time wasted

get every day just to get a green square
