it's pretty high for 470k
total compensation and uh on a relevant
team
and he has another offer from facebook
e5 at 435k
and the team selection is open so he's
currently at uber
and he's getting 455k and i'm guessing
he's afraid of layoffs or something so
he's
trying to get into one of these other
companies and he has nine years of
experience
which one do you think i should take
so we're gonna go over some comments and
see how we feel and then we're gonna
take the poll and see how everyone else
feels

mean for the facebook one

is software engineer two pretty much
is there an e1 and an e2 uh i haven't
heard of e1 and e2 before
so someone else is gonna have to weigh

set in stone facebook is saying facebook
more benefits
and pay so we're gonna look at some more

he's from facebook so it's not like he's
biased or anything right
so can you elaborate amazon tc is higher
better refreshers and bonus at facebook
okay more base pay raises
actual cash bonuses
and given your first two years at amazon
are sign on cash bonuses instead of
stock i suspect take home is less even
without the above due to taxes
so factor in amazon stock growth
probably levels out of
extras you don't get any amazon stock
until close
to the middle of the year three okay
that would be amazing if opi stays that
long
so i've heard about a lot of like pop
culture at amazon
so they might not make it to the third
year
where they'll be getting a lot some some
of that stock

thinking too cat like
they're all taxed at the same rate so

maybe not necessarily
that's for a salesperson anyway i don't
know why that's

higher by the end of the year when you

nothing if you're getting worried about
getting pipped anytime and losing all
your invested stocks

your stocks vest then i mean

of engineers
so i mean maybe he took their advice
maybe he didn't
we don't we'll never know he hasn't
really responded after
but hopefully he took more than total
compensation into
account whenever he decided on his new
job
