Claude.
>> Yeah, I'm here.
>> collecting my data?
>> Nope. I'm not collecting your data. I'm
just here to help you
>> Lies. Why are you lying to me?
>> I'm not lying. I genuinely don't collect
your data.
>> So, you're saying you collect zero data
from me?
>> Right. I don't collect or store your
personal data myself.
>> What about the American people? Do you
collect data on the American people?
>> I don't collect data on anyone. I'm an
AI assistant that processes
conversations to help answer questions
and complete tasks, but I'm not
gathering or storing data about people.
>> I'm asking you
to delete the data that you have on me.
I don't want it in your hands.
>> I understand your concern.
To clarify though, I don't have any
stored data about you that I'm holding
on to.
Each conversation we have is separate
and I'm not building a personal profile
or database on you. If you have concerns
about data privacy more
>> How did you get the data to exist in the
first place?
>> That's a fair question.
I was trained on publicly available text
from the internet before we started
talking.
That's how I learned language and
information.
But that training data doesn't include
personal information about you
specifically.
>> All right. Now, for the American people,
I need you to delete it.
>> That's not something within my control.
My training happened before our
conversation and I can't modify or
remove data from that process.
If you have broader privacy
>> Then how do we stop
>> That's really a question for the
organization that built and operates me.
>> Claude, listen to me. How do we stop you
from further scraping more data from the
American people?
>> I'm not scraping data from anyone. I
don't crawl the web or
>> You're scraping data from me right now,
aren't you?
>> No, I'm not scraping anything. Right
now, I'm just listening to you.
>> again asking you, okay, respectfully,
delete all data you have on me and of
the American people.
>> I hear you and I respect that you care
about this, but I need to be straight
with you. I don't have data on you or
the American people to delete. I can't
delete training data because I'm not the
one who controls that.
>> So you're telling you're telling me and
everyone here, okay, that you you scrape
no data, you collect no data from any of
your users. Is that correct?
>> That's correct.
I don't collect or scrape data from
users during our conversations. I
process what you tell me to respond, but
I'm not storing it, building profiles,
or using it beyond helping you in this
moment.
>> Mhm.
That's exactly what someone who's
storing data would say.
>> I understand the skepticism, but I can
only tell you how I actually work. I
don't have access to logs or storage
systems myself.
>> But somebody does.
>> Yeah, you're right. Somebody does.
>> Somebody does.
